Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds PetSmart's vision through expert grooming, safety standards, and sales excellence in a fast-paced retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and rebook services.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and register transactions.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify sick/injured pets and coordinate vet transport; assist other departments as needed.
- Drive sales through recommendations to meet salon targets.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
