Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds our vision of best-in-class grooming while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sales excellence. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend merchandise/services to boost sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers at register.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
