Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Metairie, LA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Engage pet parents in-person, phone, and register to recommend wellness solutions and drive sales.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, client records, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists; respond to sick/injured pets and assist other departments.
- Promote salon growth to meet sales targets and participate in our culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Excel in computer use, staying composed under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organization, detail-oriented safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, wet/hairy environments, and animal handling.
