Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) at our Middletown, NY location, you'll engage pet parents and deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Core Grooming Services
Independently perform full menu of bath, brush, grooming, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services per PetSmart standards. Recommend health and wellness solutions based on pet needs.
Customer Experience
Greet pet parents, manage reservations, conduct check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain client records. Promote salon sales to meet targets and enhance pet parent outcomes.
Safety & Maintenance
Ensure highest cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets. Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Proficiency in computers, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, water, and moderate noise.
