Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon operations, and sales growth. Located in Midland, Texas, you'll work in a dynamic pet retail environment focused on safety, cleanliness, and pet well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and teeth brushing.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Uphold salon sanitation, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet handling.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings, weekends, holidays), strong organization, and communication skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wetness.
