Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health and safety. Based in Midlothian, Virginia, this role combines technical grooming expertise with exceptional customer service to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Promote salon sales, recommend merchandise, and achieve productivity targets.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
