Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Millburn, New Jersey location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and uphold PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents in-person, phone, and at register; recommend wellness solutions, manage reservations, check-in/out, and rebooking.
- Drive salon sales through merchandise/service recommendations to hit targets and productivity metrics.
- Maintain highest cleanliness/sanitation levels; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance and respond to sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in our culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
