Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring pet health, safety, and parent satisfaction. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend wellness solutions and upsell merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, including vet transport if needed; assist other departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification required. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
