Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds our vision of exceptional grooming in a clean, humane environment, with flexibility to support store needs.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), work in wet/pet hair environments with moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals is daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and rebook services.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and sales register.
- Maintain salon cleanliness via daily checklists; respond to pet emergencies.
- Drive salon sales targets and promote merchandise.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication essential. Depth perception and physical stamina needed.

- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments
