Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Uphold pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards while contributing to store success.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
• Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
• Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out, maintain records, and conduct reminder calls.
• Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance, end-of-day cleaning, and immediate response to sick/injured pets.
• Support other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, moderately noisy environment.
