Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products, and upsell services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-ins/check-outs, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, pet safety, and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vet if needed, and assist other departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a pet-filled, noisy environment with wet conditions.
