Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health/safety standards. This hands-on role in our Moose Jaw location combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, maintain records, and conduct reminder calls.
- Ensure salon cleanliness/sanitation, monitor pet welfare, and respond to health issues including vet transport if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to team recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training). Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise and live animal exposure.
