Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and pet safety in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-in/out, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Uphold salon cleanliness and pet health/safety; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, follow company policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment. Passion for animals and pet parent satisfaction required.
