Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and maintains top safety standards. This hands-on role in our Murrieta store combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to exceed expectations and boost salon performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to grow sales.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, pet health/safety; respond to sick pets and transport to vet if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
