Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Groomers) deliver exceptional dog and cat grooming services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon management, and sales to drive salon success while prioritizing pet health, safety, and salon hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales and pet care.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist customers.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies by transporting to vets if needed; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and organize meticulously. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, sometimes noisy/wet environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
