Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role in our Nanaimo store combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to exceed expectations and boost salon performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Build pet parent relationships through consultations, reservations, check-in/out procedures, and sales recommendations.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily checklists, end-of-day cleaning, and immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Drive sales targets by promoting services, merchandise, and wellness solutions.
- Flexibly assist other departments and participate in team recognition initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical capability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
