Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with exceptional customer service to drive positive experiences and salon success in our New Braunfels, Texas location.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to meet pet needs.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation through daily cleaning, checklists, and humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health; take immediate action for sick/injured animals, including vet transport.
- Promote salon sales to hit targets; assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, wet environment with moderate noise and live animal exposure.
