Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our New Hartford, NY location, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness, pet health, and safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Recommend health/wellness solutions and sell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, questions, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation via daily maintenance checklists and end-of-day cleaning.
- Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, transporting to vet if needed; assist other departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion/safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
