Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our New Hyde Park, NY location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement to drive salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote sales.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, and record-keeping.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Collaborate across departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.

- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, and sanitary care
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise
- Manage salon check-in/out, reservations, and client communications
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and health standards
- Assist in sales targets, store operations, and other departments as needed
