Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Newton, MA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. Uphold PetSmart's vision of pet health, safety, and exceptional grooming while contributing to salon success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, recommend merchandise, and drive sales to meet targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling for evenings/weekends/holidays, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
