Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Newtown, PA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and contribute to sales goals in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records; greet and assist pet parents in-person and via phone.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane conditions; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Flexibly assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Need computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
