Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services for dogs and cats, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This role demands grooming expertise, customer engagement, and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and sales goals in a fast-paced store setting.
Essential Physical Demands
Expect to stand, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in wet/hairy conditions, climb ladders, and work amid moderate-to-high noise with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and rebook services.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, check-ins/outs, calls, records.
- Drive sales through recommendations and promotions.
- Maintain hygiene, report sick pets, assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming or PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Must excel in communication, organization, composure under pressure, computer use, and flexible scheduling. Passion for pets and safety is essential.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and merchandise
- Manage check-in/out, reservations, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness and pet safety standards
- Assist with sales targets and other store duties as needed
