Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Northbrook, Illinois location, you'll engage pet parents and their pets while delivering best-in-class salon services. Uphold PetSmart's vision of pet health, safety, and positive experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and be ready to assist across departments.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet environments with pet hair and moderate noise. Exposure to live animals is common; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards. Greet clients, manage reservations, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls. Recommend wellness solutions, drive sales to meet targets, maintain salon hygiene via daily checklists, and respond to pet health issues by transporting to vets as needed. Follow all policies and promote salon growth.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Excel under pressure, stay organized, communicate effectively, and handle flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Computer proficiency essential.
