Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This full-time role in our Oakville store requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a pet-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and sell merchandise/services to meet sales targets.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor pet health, transport sick/injured pets to vets, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- Prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion/technical evaluation.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure.
- Computer proficiency and flexibility for variable shifts.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift 50+ lbs, handle pets in wet/noisy environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception and moderate-heavy lifting required.
