Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service, salon operations, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll uphold PetSmart's high standards for pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care following PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on pet needs, recommend wellness products/services, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
- Handle check-in/out procedures, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon sanitation, pet safety, and immediate response to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
- Assist other departments, promote company culture, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
