Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and pet safety oversight in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care following PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend services/merchandise, and drive salon sales goals.
- Handle check-ins/check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Uphold salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training plus Salon Academy certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, and communicate effectively. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in pet hair-filled, noisy environments. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
