Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Monitor for sick/injured pets, transport to vet as needed, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
