Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while contributing to salon success through sales and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions and recommend services/merchandise to meet pet needs.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, respond to issues, and assist across departments as needed.
- Drive sales targets, promote services, and participate in our recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or completion of 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart's Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
