Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and teeth brushing.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales through recommendations.
- Ensure salon sanitation, perform maintenance, and respond immediately to pet health issues, including vet transport if needed.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and promote merchandise to meet productivity goals.
- Flexibly assist other store departments while embodying PetSmart's values.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Salon Academy training and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in wet, noisy conditions with live animals. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
