Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services in Ottawa, Ontario, engaging pet parents and ensuring top-tier pet health, safety, and satisfaction. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service in a dynamic retail pet environment.
Key Responsibilities
Independently execute full grooming menus per PetSmart standards; recommend wellness solutions; manage pet parent interactions via in-person, phone, and register; handle reservations, check-ins/outs, and records; promote sales to meet targets; uphold salon cleanliness and pet safety; assist other departments as needed; follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training + certification); computer proficiency; composure under pressure; flexible scheduling; strong organization, communication, and safety focus. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in wet/hairy conditions with animal exposure.

- Capacity to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair/wet environments (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness recommendations and rebook appointments
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and handle sick/injured pets
- Drive salon sales through merchandise/service promotions
- Manage check-in/out procedures, client records, and appointment reminders
