Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers top-tier salon services, ensuring pet health, safety, and satisfaction. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, this role combines hands-on grooming expertise with exceptional customer service to uphold our vision of outstanding pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and upsell merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness/sanitation, monitor pet health, and take immediate action for sick/injured animals including vet transport.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months training + certification). Must have computer skills, composure under pressure, flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a noisy, pet-filled environment.
