Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness needs and recommend solutions.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions.
- Drive sales through merchandise/service recommendations to meet targets.
- Monitor pet health; transport to vet if needed; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion/technical evaluation. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
