Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to boost sales.
- Manage pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily/end-of-day cleaning, ensure humane pet conditions.
- Identify sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed; assist other departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or 6 months in PetSmart's Salon Academy with certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
