Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds our vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while driving salon sales and maintaining top cleanliness standards in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Manage appointments: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records.
- Ensure salon hygiene via daily maintenance, end-of-day cleaning checklists.
- Monitor pet health; transport sick/injured pets to vet as needed; assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion/certification. Must have computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hairy environments, moderate-high noise, and animal handling.
