Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Palm Desert, CA location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents alike. This role upholds PetSmart's vision of pet health, safety, and satisfaction while sharing responsibility for salon operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness recommendations and upsell services/merchandise to drive salon growth.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness through daily maintenance and end-of-day protocols; respond to pet health issues promptly.
- Assist other departments as needed and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet-filled environment.
