Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with customer service excellence to drive salon success and pet parent satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and promote services/merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene through daily cleaning, maintenance checklists, and humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vets if needed, and support store-wide duties.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-filled, moderate-noise environment.
