Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer service, salon operations, and sales to drive store success. Work in a dynamic environment with live animals, maintaining the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Ensure salon cleanliness and humane pet conditions; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, participate in recognition culture, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program including Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with mechanical parts.
