Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
• Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend services/merchandise to meet pet needs and drive sales.
• Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, client records, rebooking.
• Maintain impeccable cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
• Monitor pet health, take action on sick/injured animals, assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, attention to safety, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
