Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health, safety, and cleanliness standards. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, this role offers flexibility and the chance to work with live animals in a dynamic retail environment.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stoop, kneel; exposed to wet areas, pet hair, moderate noise, and mechanical parts. Depth perception required.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, manage appointments, and promote sales.
- Ensure salon cleanliness via daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
- Prior grooming or PetSmart Salon Academy certification.
- Computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling.
- Strong organization, communication, and safety focus.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and products
- Manage salon check-in/out, reservations, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness and pet safety standards
- Drive salon sales and achieve productivity targets
