Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health/safety standards. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming with customer service, sales growth, and salon maintenance in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness needs, recommend solutions, and drive salon sales targets.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, client records, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness/sanitation; monitor pet health and respond to emergencies.
- Assist other departments and promote company values/policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion (6 months). Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational detail-orientation, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/noisy environments with animals.
