Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This full-time role in our Plaistow store involves grooming, customer engagement, salon maintenance, and sales growth, upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health/wellness solutions and recommend merchandise/services.
- Handle check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily/end-of-day maintenance.
- Drive salon sales targets, promote services, and assist in other departments as needed.
- Respond to sick/injured pets and ensure safety protocols.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy completion and safety certification. Must have computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, communication skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate noise.
