Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This hands-on role combines technical grooming expertise with customer engagement, salon management, and sales to uphold our high standards of pet health, safety, and satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards, including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness products/services, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
- Handle check-ins/check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and maintain accurate client records.
- Ensure salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion/certification. Must excel in computer use, stay composed under pressure, communicate effectively, and prioritize organization, detail, and safety. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet-hair-filled, noisy environment with live animals.
