Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role upholds cleanliness, pet health/safety standards, and drives salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greet clients, manage reservations/check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and maintain records.
- Ensure salon sanitation via daily maintenance checklists; respond to pet emergencies including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and contribute to a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or 6 months as PetSmart Stylist in Training with successful Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair/wet environment with moderate-high noise.
