Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer (Pet Stylist) in our Rensselaer, NY location, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services for dogs and cats while ensuring pet health, safety, and exceptional customer experiences. Share responsibility for salon cleanliness and thrive in a fast-paced pet-loving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Drive salon sales through recommendations, merchandise upsells, and achieving productivity targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon sanitation, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays; physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work in pet hair-filled environments.
