Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Stylists (Dog/Cat Groomers) deliver exceptional salon services, ensuring positive pet parent experiences. This role demands grooming expertise, safety focus, and sales savvy in a fast-paced retail environment. Full-time position with flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), work in wet/hairy conditions with moderate-high noise and live animals. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu and standalone services per PetSmart standards.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, promote merchandise/services to meet sales goals.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness/sanitation; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Collaborate across departments and embody PetSmart's values.
Experience & Skills
- Prior grooming or PetSmart Salon Academy certification/technical evaluation pass.
- Computer proficiency, composure under pressure, organizational precision.
- Superior communication; safety-first mindset.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including bath, brush, nail trims, teeth brushing per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and merchandise, drive salon sales
- Manage check-in/out, reservations, reminder calls, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and report sick/injured pets
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies
