Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds the highest standards of pet health, safety, and salon cleanliness. This dynamic role combines technical grooming expertise with outstanding customer service to drive salon success and pet parent satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, recommend merchandise, and promote services to meet sales targets.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, reminder calls, and client record maintenance.
- Ensure salon sanitation through daily maintenance, end-of-day cleaning, and immediate response to pet health issues.
- Participate in store-wide support, company policies, and culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Seeking groomers with prior experience or completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program and Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy environments.
