Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services while ensuring pet health, safety, and positive pet parent experiences. This hands-on role combines grooming expertise with customer service, sales, and salon operations in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health issues.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate across departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise.
