Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers best-in-class salon services, engages pet parents, and upholds pet health/safety standards. This dynamic role combines hands-on grooming expertise with exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to meet sales targets.
- Handle pet parent interactions: greetings, reservations, check-in/out, consultations, rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness/sanitation; respond to pet health issues including vet transport.
- Assist other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience required, or 6 months as Stylist in Training with PetSmart Salon Academy certification. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational skills, and strong communication essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, exposure to wet/hair-filled environments, and animal handling.
