Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and pet parents. This role upholds cleanliness, safety standards, and drives salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming services per PetSmart standards: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary care.
- Consult with pet parents on health solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
- Promote sales of merchandise/services to meet targets while maintaining salon hygiene and pet welfare.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and participate in company culture initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Requires prior grooming experience or successful completion of PetSmart's 6-month Stylist in Training program with Salon Academy certification. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in pet-heavy environments.
