Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Stylist (Dog/Cat Groomer) delivers exceptional salon services, ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This role upholds cleanliness, safety standards, and drives salon success through expert grooming and customer engagement in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute full grooming menu: baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services per PetSmart protocols.
- Consult with pet parents on wellness solutions, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and rebookings.
- Maintain salon hygiene via daily maintenance checklists; respond to pet health issues by transporting to vets as needed.
- Promote sales of merchandise/services to meet targets; greet clients and handle inquiries professionally.
- Collaborate across departments, participate in recognition culture, and adhere to all policies.
Experience & Skills
Require prior grooming experience or successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion. Must demonstrate computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational precision, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing extensively, and working in pet-heavy, noisy, wet environments with depth perception essential.

- Excellent written and verbal communication (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards
- Engage pet parents to recommend services and products while managing check-in/out procedures
- Maintain salon cleanliness, pet safety, and handle sick/injured pets immediately
- Drive salon sales through promotions and achieve productivity targets
